Montreal, November 12th 2008 - FACIL, a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of Free Software, issues a call to all candidates regarding the use of free software in Quebec public administration.
View the list of candidates who have signed the Free Software Pledge.
The Free Software Pledge is a simple document permitting voters and other interested groups to find out which candidates and political parties in their region are aware of the issues surrounding free software, and are prepared to promote and defend the associated freedoms.
«Free software is software that can be used, studied, and modified without restriction, and which can be copied and redistributed in modified or unmodified form either without restriction, or with minimal restrictions only to ensure that further recipients can also do these things.» [1]
